What is Fetch by TAXIBOX?
Fetch by TAXIBOX offers our most resourceful customers a convenient solution for self-storage. We empower you to pick up, fill, and transport your TAXIBOX unit all on your own, giving you complete control over your storage experience. All for no additional cost up to 4 hours!! The race is on 🏁
Who can drive a Fetch truck?
Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have held a full standard driver’s licence for at least 2 consecutive years. Every driver is required to present and photocopy both sides of their driver’s licence upon pickup.
(Say goodbye to your youth, as you know you’re officially an adult when you drive your first truck)
How to book a Fetch truck?
You can either fill out our online enquiry form, after which our sales team will get in touch, or you can directly contact our mostly friendly staff at (03) 9012-0155. Call now, so you don’t miss your optimal booking time…(Hopefully you don’t get Chris…. plz don’t tell him I wrote this).
How many TAXIBOXES can I fetch at a time?
You can pick up one TAXIBOX at a time. (Anymore and you would need a truck driving licence and one of our 5 X TAXIBOX trucks… which we don’t offer for hire…yet… but if that sounds like fun? Join our driving team! )
Can I hire the Fetch truck for more than half a day?
The standard hire period is half a day. You can choose between:
- Morning slot: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Afternoon slot: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM (not available on Saturdays).
Please remember the mini truck can only be taken during office hours from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM and must not be kept overnight.

- The service is free for up to a maximum of 4 hours.
- For anything over 4 hours, the charge is $75 per hour excluding fuel.
- If you pass through tolls without an e-tag, a $25 fee per toll will apply.
- Loss of keys will be a $250 charge.
What happens if I forget to refuel the Fetch truck or it sustains any damage?
Customers are responsible for refuelling the Fetch truck with diesel. If the truck isn’t returned with a full tank, a $100 fee will be charged. Additionally, any damages or fines incurred during the rental period will be the responsibility of the client. (Don’t worry there is an Ampol station 2 doors down from our Melbourne Branch.)
In which city/state can I book the Fetch truck?
Currently, Fetch by TAXIBOX is available only in Melbourne. However, we are excited to announce that we will be launching in other states soon! So tell your friends… seriously, you will get a referral reward!
What are the features of the Fetch mini truck?
The Fetch mini truck is designed for ease of use, offering:
- Automatic transmission
- Diesel fuel for any heavy loads and steep hills
- Air conditioning for when you break a sweat moving your partners cosmetics boxes
- GPS for seamless navigation… (ok boomer. Google Maps is your friend, friend)
- Seats 3 people in the front cabin… (and as many mates as you can sardine in the back… we do not condone this!)
- A handy ramp and box trolly 📐🛒
Do I need to bring anything when picking up the truck?
Yes, please ensure you have:
- Your driver’s licence for verification.
- Your credit card for the $200 deposit.
- Familiarise yourself with our terms and conditions, which will be provided at the time of booking… TLDR? Trust us, it’s a great read.
