What's the difference between Mobile Storage and Local Storage?
With Mobile Storage, we bring the TAXIBOX to your place, you pack it and we pick it up and store it for you. With Local Storage, you bring your stuff to our self-storage site in Alexandria and load it into your own unit.
Where is TAXIBOX Local Alexandria?
We’re at 21 O’Riordan Street, Alexandria – super central and easy to get to. These are premium drive up units so you can drive right up to your unit between 5am and 10pm, 365 days a year. No need to call ahead, these units don’t move.
Can i access my TAXIBOX once in storage?
Mobile Storage: We deliver a TAXIBOX to your door, you pack at your pace. If you need physical access later, you can visit your TAXIBOX at our Greenacre facility.
Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm AEST
Saturday: 8:00am – 1:30pm AEST
Heads up: we’re closed on Sundays and public holidays
Just give us at least one business days’ notice via the customer portal and we’ll have your TAXIBOX ready to roll.
Local Storage: You bring your stuff directly to our Alexandria site, drive up and load it into your unit. Access is available every day from 5am to 10pm, every single day of the year – no need to call ahead.
What size options are available?
Mobile Storage: Our mobile storage comes in one size only, each TAXIBOX holds about 1 to 1.5 rooms’ worth of your stuff.
Local Storage: Units come in multiple sizes to match the amount of stuff you’ve got – handy if you’re storing just a few items, or the contents of a full house.
How long can I store for and how flexible is billing?
For both Mobile Storage and Local Storage, your storage fee is billed month-to-month with a one-month minimum, giving you flexibility whether you need storage short or long-term.
Which option is better for whom?
Mobile Storage is great if you’d rather let storage come to you. We deliver the TAXIBOX to your door, you pack in your own time and we take care of the rest – no van hire and zero stress.
Local Storage is ideal if you live nearby and want regular, easy access to your stuff. It’s particularly great for tradies and local businesses. With secure units right in the neighbourhood, you can drive straight up, and load and unload whenever you need.
