So, how secure is TAXIBOX Local?
You wanna keep your stuff safe. We get it.
Here’s a look at some of the ways we help keep our facilities and your belongings secure.
Identity verification for anyone with access
Not just anyone can wander in. Access is linked to identity verification, helping make sure the people accessing the facility are who they say they are. It’s another layer of protection between your stuff and the outside world.
Back-to-base alarms
Our facilities are equipped with back-to-base alarm systems, providing another layer of protection and helping make sure potential security issues don’t go unnoticed. If an alarm is triggered, alerts are sent to both third party and internal resources so it can be assessed and responded to. Consider it another set of eyes on the place to help keep your belongings safe and sound.
App-based access monitoring
Getting into your unit is keyless and managed through your phone. The system keeps a digital record of access activity, giving us visibility over who is accessing the locks, when they’re doing it and where. No keys to lose. No guessing who’s accessed your unit.
Security cameras, including PTZ cameras
Cameras are another important layer of security at TAXIBOX Local. Our setup includes PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras, which can move and zoom to monitor different areas of the facility.
Regular patrols
It’s not all about technology. Regular patrols help keep an eye on the site and make sure everything is as it should be, including checking that storage units are properly locked. The best systems are ones that are less reliant on humans even though humans still play an important part.
Customer access
Customers can typically access our sites between 5am and 10pm, giving you plenty of flexibility to get to your stuff when you need it. Outside of these hours, the sites are fully locked down, adding an extra layer of security during the quieter hours when most incidents at self-storage facilities occur.
Protect+
Want another layer of peace of mind? Protect+ gives you added protection for your belongings while they’re stored at our facility. It covers things like theft of goods, fire and lightning, accidental damage, floods, hail and storms, plus more.
So while our security systems are designed to help keep your storage unit and the site secure, Protect+ provides an extra layer of protection for your stuff. It’s one less thing to worry about while your belongings are tucked away.
Multiple layers. One less thing to worry about.
We think your storage should be easy to access when you need it, but that doesn’t mean it should be easy for just anyone to access.
That’s why TAXIBOX Local uses multiple layers of security, including identity verification, back-to-base alarms, monitored access, security cameras and regular patrols.
And no, we’re not going to publish the full security playbook here. Some things are better kept under wraps. 😉
What we can tell you is that we’re serious about keeping your belongings safe, so you can lock up, drive away and get on with your day.
Got stuff? Need space? We’ve got it covered.

Have questions? We’ve got answers:
Is drive-up storage safe?
Yes, TAXIBOX drive-up storage is safe! We’ve built multiple layers of security into TAXIBOX Local to help keep your stuff safe. That includes identity verification, back-to-base alarms, app-based access monitoring, security cameras including PTZ cameras, and regular site patrols.
Can anyone access my storage unit?
Nope! Access is managed through your phone using Bluetooth, with identity verification helping us keep track of who’s on site. Your access activity is also logged. You can choose to share your Bluetooth key with someone you trust, handy if a family member, employee or delivery driver needs to get in.
Are TAXIBOX Local facilities monitored 24/7?
Yep, we don’t clock off at 10PM. TAXIBOX Local uses security measures including CCTV, back-to-base alarms, identity verification and electronic access logging to help keep an eye on things around the clock. Your access hours are location-dependent, but it’s typically 5AM–10PM, 365 days a year, so you can get to your stuff when you need it, while the security systems keep doing their thing when you’re not there.
Is my stuff insured in self-storage?
Protect+ is an optional extra that provides cover for eligible stored belongings. It covers things like theft of goods, fire and lightning, accidental damage, floods, hail and storms, plus more. For the full details, including what’s covered and any exclusions, check the Protect+ Terms and Conditions.
Do I need my own padlock?
No traditional padlock needed. TAXIBOX Local uses app-based, keyless access, so your phone is your key. Your access is managed digitally, with activity recorded so there’s no wondering who accessed the lock or when.
